Generations of Weston residents have been stewards of our history and caretakers of our buildings

The Heart of Weston Reimagined as a Year-Round Performing Arts Center

  • Performance space for theater, concerts, film, comedy, speakers & community events

  • Renovated building with new dressing rooms, equipment for concerts, theater, speakers, film festivals & more

  • Meeting location for community gatherings such as Town Meeting Day, Elections and holiday events

  • Venue for annual craft fairs, Christmas Bazaar and other events

  • Free community space for local groups

Since 1922, the Weston Community Association has owned The Weston Playhouse, rebuilding it after the fire in 1962 and repairing it after floods in 1973, 2011 and 2023.

Our 3-year budget to complete our new performing arts center:

  • $400,000 to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy for the Playhouse and another $600,000 for it to be flood resilient

  • $900,000 to replace Playhouse dressing rooms, sound and lighting systems and operate it as a year-round performing arts center

  • $900,000 to replenish our Endowment Fund and $200,000 for operations and staffing

Raising $1,000,000 in 2027 and 2028 will replenish our depleted Endowment Fund and enable us to operate the Performing Arts Center at the Playhouse all year round

No gift is too small. Please consider making a contribution to our Playhouse Restoration Project. We have no overhead. We also need funds to maintain all our historic properties. All dollars go to tangible items like these:

  • Sprinkler System $166,000

  • Fire Alarm $35,000

  • Sump Pumps $35,000

  • New bathrooms $40,000

  • Generator to run sump pumps $35,000

  • A new ADA ramp

  • Repairs to the brick walkway…
