The Craft Building

Established 1870

The Tin Shop

The Tin Shop was built in 1870 by Charles Mansur. He lived upstairs and used the first floor for his tin shop. Frank Mansur, Charles’ son also lived and operated the tin shop in the 1920s. In 1936, when the Guild of Old Time Crafts and Industries was formed, the property along with the Grist Mill and acreage was sold to the Guild.

In 1958 the Museum and craft operations were split with two boards overseeing their functions. In 1974 the Guild property including the Mill, Craft Building and dam were deeded to the Weston Community Association.

Today, the Craft Building also houses a Cornet Bandwagon that was purchased in 1880.
