About Us
Mission & Vision
Since 1922 the Weston Community Association’s purpose has been to be stewards of our history and caretakers of our historic properties: The Weston Playhouse, The Farrar-Mansur House, Grist Mill, Craft Building and Cold Spring Brook Park.
The Weston Community Association supports the community by:
Providing venue space for Weston town meetings, elections & other town gatherings,
Leasing space for local theater productions, film showings, concerts and other programs of interest to the public,
Holding educational events and tours at the historic properties such as milling and craft demonstrations for schools and the public
Maintaining a public park
Leasing properties to area non-profits and residents
The Weston Community Association’s vision is to ensure that Weston’s historic properties continue to be a part of everyday life for generations to come.
History
Beginning as the Weston Dramatic Club in the 1870s, The Weston Community Club was incorporated on November 8, 1922 so it could be deeded (on April 7, 1923) the Congregational church at 12 Park Street which become the first Weston Playhouse.
Generations of Weston residents have served on the Association’s Board to ensure future generations of residents can enjoy and appreciate our town’s historic buildings.
